- Engine Poll: Vanguard vs. Kawasaki - Lawn Care Forum
Kawasaki and Vanguard engines are generally the same price (no effect on the final product price) Design: Kawasaki engines are a totally new design from the crankshaft-out Technically sophisticated with an outstanding list of features, but unproven in the field Vanguard is an established design with a proven track-record
- Kawasaki engine oil - Lawn Care Forum
I used to run Mobil 1 in my Kawasaki engines But I found it was being burned up too much compared to the Kawasaki K Tech I know that seems odd but if you search through this forum, you'll find others having the same results I switched to K Tech a few years ago and never have an issue I change my oil every 100 hours
- Is the Kawasaki FS Series Engine Inferior to the FX?
The older Kawasaki engines are better than the new ones The new ones suck They are much cheaper built that the old ones The old FC series from 15-20 years ago was bulletproof The FX and FS series are only a few years old And yes, I hate them I put a lot of hours on my machines Yes, for the first 1000 hours you can't tell a difference

- Engine choice Kawasaki or Kohler - Lawn Care Forum
HP is what mattes in a mower engine Torque is almost meaningless in mower engines as it is at its peak far below the 3600 rpm range where these engines are designed to be operated when mowing, and rarely do they get lugged down below 3200 while peak torque comes in down around 22-2400 rpms
- Kawasaki FH vs FS engines - Lawn Care Forum
The new engines use pretty much all the same blocks heads The FR's usually get a cheaper single barrel carb and filter The FS is a step up, cant remember if they are double barrel but this is the line you will see on most walkbehinds or low-mid level ZTR's The FX is the top of the line with double barrel carbs, DFI, canister air filters
- Kawasaki 31-35hp or 37hp Vanguard EFI - Lawn Care Forum
The engine became very hard to start when new at the 90 hr mark Kawasaki sent a newly designed cam of which was installed by the dealer and there has been no problems since the change You seem to be leaning towards a Kawasaki engine, either the 31 or 35 will give you exceptional power from a carburetor engine of which seems to be what you
